NRP

Course overview

The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) has been designed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and American Heart Association to teach an evidence-based approach to resuscitation of the newborn. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What to expect
  • Skills stations will contain the devices and equipment used in clinical settings.  Each station provides an opportunity to practice and review performance checklists in preparation for the simulation experience.
  • Simulated scenarios during the course are designed to foster teamwork and communication as well as test the provider's mastery of the NRP core content.
  • Debriefing will immediately follow each scenario.

    Skill Stations
  • Bag mask/ PPV, with corrective actions.
  • Initial steps of resuscitation.
  • Chest compressions.
  • Medication skills.
  • Emergency umbilical line prep and placement.
  • Team Simulation and Debriefing.
  •
